The LunchClub is a club for people who like to get lunch discounts from local restaurants. Membership is free, and anyone can join. See How it Works for more info.

3. How much does it cost to join?

The LunchClub is a free club, and there will never be a charge for it.

The web site and club administration are supported by revenue from LunchClub sponsors. (So feel free to be a LunchClub Sponsor.)

6. How often will I get LunchClub discounts?

That depends on how many people sign up in your area, and how soon we get to it. As soon as your area is up and running, you will get one discount per day, weekdays only. If you aren't getting enough discounts, become a LunchClub Scout.

7. What are our duties as club members?

We only have 2 club member duties:

  2. Be a LunchClub Restaurant Scout.

8. How do I win in the daily drawings?

You will be entered in the drawings every time that you refer a friend to the club, and every time someone that you referred signs up. You'll get credit for your referrals when they use the link from your referral email, or enter your email address in the "referred by" field on the sign-up form, or if you refer them from our website form.

9. Is the coupon good for more than one person?

Unless otherwise stated, the discounts are good for one person only. Some restaurants may accept them for entire parties, but there is no guarantee.

10. Is the coupon good for more than one day?

Each coupon has an expiration date on it. They are generally good for up to one week.

11. Should I get the specials in HTML or Text format?

If you use an HTML compatible eMail reader such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, or any web based eMail such as Hotmail or Yahoo, the specials will look nicer and print better in HTML format.

If your email reader does not support HTML, you should stick to the Text format. If you sign up for HTML format, and your eMail application does not support HTML, you will be able to tell immediately -- when you receive your lunch special, you will see a message saying that your eMail client does not support HTML, followed by a lot of messy looking text (which is the HTML "code"). To modify your eMail format, go to your profile and set the "Preferred eMail Format."

12. Can I sign up for multiple locations?

You can sign up for as many locations as you wish. You will receive a separate email for each location that you sign up for. If more than one of your locations are in the same zip code, you will only receive one email for that zip code. To modify your lunch location or add additional locations, go to your profile.

13. How do I figure out what email address I'm signed up with?

For your protection, your email address is not displayed on the special (since it will be printed out and given to the restaurant). If you have forgotten what email address you signed up with, you need to look at the email headers. The headers are not displayed with the email message body in graphical email clients such as Outlook or Outlook Express, but are generally available through one of the menus. Directions for finding the headers in Outlook and Outlook Express are displayed below, but you should be able to find them in any email reader. Look for the header 'X-Bounce-Recipient,' and that will tell you what email address is being used.

Outlook Express (version 5 and up): Go to the 'File' Menu, choose the 'Properties' option. In the window that pops up, select the 'Details' tab. Your headers are displayed in the text area. Look for the header 'X-Bounce-Recipient,' and that will tell you what email address is being used.

Outlook (version 9 and up): Right click on the email in the upper window (where the messages are listed). Select 'Options.' The message headers are listed under 'Internet headers' in the window that pops up. Look for the header 'X-Bounce-Recipient,' and that will tell you what email address is being used.
